Prime Video Buff was an advertisement campaign filmed in 2022. The Project involved filming a ‘competition call-out’ prompting viewers to send in an application for an amateur Film Buff to review original Amazon Prime content in order to appeal to a more casual audience.
This project was a fast paced complex shoot that required me to put all my past experience and knowledge to use, both Film Design and my Architectural business experience. I was required to present to Amazon Prime Executives, a process I hadn’t done since being an Architect, where concepts and ideas needed to be approved in order to progress further. However, due to the short amount of time during pre-production, this was a lot easier said than done. I was extremely happy with the end result, with an incredible crew and featured talent to work with, this job proved to be very memorable.
Corporate World
With only 3 days of pre-production to design and build a living room set, there wasn’t much time to prepare. Throw in several client meetings throughout the build process, and time was slipping away fast. Luckily I had a great team, who were on the road sourcing props while I was building flats in a carpark basement. The day before shoot, we were still assembling the walls at 9pm, but we pushed through and managed to produce a set of high calibre that we were very happy with on camera.
Although I did feel we fell a little short with the details on the walls, the client wanted a minimalist space as not to draw the eye away from the talent, we did manage to strategically position the furnishings and dressing we had, to produce full frames for the shoot. I worked closely with the Director/DOP on the night before the shoot to ensure we made the most of the limited dressing we had.
